House. C16, divided before 1810, now empty awaiting renovation. Timber
frame on low red brick sill, red brick infill covered over by lath and
roughcast. N chimney of squared clunch. Steep old red tile roof. Slated
C19 brick rear lean-to to N part. A former single-storey house of 2 bays
and a N chimney-bay, facing W, with inserted floor and an added internal
S gable brick chimney with stair in SE corner. Winding stair with C17
oak panelled door to winding stair at NW corner in recess by older open
fireplace. Now of 1 1/2 storeys with 2 2-lights casement windows and a
plank door on the left of each window. Gabled dormer on roofslope
formerly to N half (now collapsed inwards), S gable window to S half.
Interior has tiled floor, axial beams, clasped-purlin roof with curved
wind-braces. Roof not smoke blackened. Tie-beam cut for doorway. (RCHM
