House. Late C18 - early C19; adjoining coach-house raised to two storeys and incorporated in house in later C19. Brick in Flemish bond. Pantile roofs. Main ranges L-shaped on plan, with two-room central entrance hall fronts to south and west, latter with coach-house extension to left, and outshut in angle to rear.
Main front to south: two storeys, three bays; symmetrical. Doric doorcase with reeded pilasters and brackets supporting dentilled broken pediment; six-fielded-panel door (top two panels glazed) with radial fanlight in arched panelled reveal. 16-pane sashes with channelled and keyed stucco segmental arches and projecting cills. Stepped and cogged brick eaves cornice. Hipped roof. End stack to right.
Left return forms west front facing Thornton Street: recessed six-fielded-panel door and three-pane overlight beneath channelled and keyed stucco segmental arch; 16-pane sashes and brick eaves cornice similar to south front. Low two-storey extension to left has similar first floor window, wooden eaves board and hipped roof; left return has blocked segmental carriage arch with C20 casement and first floor 16-pane sash.
Interior: entrance halls and stair hall have beaded-panel dado and moulded cornices; open well staircase with ramped and wreathed handrail and plain balusters; moulded ceiling cornices to main rooms; six-beaded-panel doors in panelled reveals and architraves throughout.
