House and adjoining former shop range to left. Late C18-early C19 with
earlier origins to shop. Red brick with pantile roofs; coursed limestone
rubble to plinth of house and sides and rear of slop. Possible timber-
framing to shop: ends of some first floor joists exposed to rear. House:
3 storeys with cellar, 3 bays; symmetrical. Plinth. Stone steps to
panelled door with 3-pane overlight in moulded wooden doorcase with plain
cornice and hood. Blocked segmental-arched cellar opening to right.
16-pane sashes in flush wooden architraves to either side, with stucco
cambered arches and cills. 2 similar windows to first floor. 12-pane
sliding sashes with stucco cills and segmental brick arches to second floor.
Stepped and cogged brick eaves cornice. End stacks, upper sections
projecting slightly from tumbled gables. Interior contains extensive stone-
walled cellars. Disused at time of survey. Shops: 2 storeys, 2 first floor
windows. Plank door to left, with boarded C19 shop window to left beneath
projecting cornice/jetty with cogged brick band. Shop window and former
entrance, now part-glazed and,panelled, to right, ,beneath projecting wooden
cornice. Sliding sashes beneath wooden lintels to first floor. Brick-coped
gable, end stack to left. Left return has bricked-up opening and rounded
corner to George Street. Interior: room to right contains kitchen to No 29,
remainder not investigated. Disused at time of survey.
