GV II

Public house. C18 origins with early C19 alterations and additions, and
later alterations. Brick, stuccoed to front of house, rendered to lower
section of range to left. Pantile roof. Plan: 2-room, central entrance
front to house, with additions to left. House 2 storeys, 2 first-floor
windows. Plinth, chamfered quoins. Entrance has doorcase with bracketed
hood, panelled door beneath plain overlight in reveal. Late C19 4-pane
sashes in earlier flush wooden architraves, those to ground floor beneath
keyed stucco flat arches. First-floor band. Plain wooden eaves board. End
stack to left. Range to left, in 2 builds, has blocked segmental-arched
ground-floor opening (largely obscured by rendering), blocked first-floor
opening. Left gable end bears wrought-iron date "1811". Interior of house
contains boxed-in spine beam and inglenook fireplace to left room; not fully
investigated.
