Church. C12, enlarged in C14. West end rebuilt and bellcote added 1890-92
by Ewan Christian. Coursed squared rubble with some cobbles and brick:
freestone dressings to openings. Timber-framed bellcote, slate roof. 3-bay
nave with north aisle and west bellcote, 2-bay chancel. Nave: buttress with
offsets. 2 square-headed 2-light windows with ogee tracery, and trefoil-
headed lancet to extreme east, flanking pointed south door with continuous
double hollow chamfers under hood-mould. Similar door to north wall under
filleted hood-mould with face-stops. Chamfered corbel table. Bellcote:
timber louvres and pyramidal roof under wind-vane. Chancel: 2 square-headed
windows of 2 round-headed cusped lights each: over the mullions is a
similar, inverted, cusped motif. Round-arched priests' door with continuous
narrow chamfer. 3-light pointed east window with intersecting tracery,
raised coped gable with cross finial. Interior: no arcade to north aisle.
Early C19 organ case with inlaid wood. C19 octagonal font on cylindrical
pier and octagonal base.
