8/46 Thornton Lock

GV II

Lock. c1813 by George Leather for the Pocklington Canal Company. Red brick
with gritstone dressings. Parallel sides to lock chamber with recesses for
gates (now removed) and rounded splays to either end. Disused and derelict
at time of resurvey.
