Bank and offices. c1907. Red brick and ashlar, with grey
granite plinth, ashlar dressings and slate roofs, gabled and
hipped. 2 gable and single ridge brick stacks, coped. Baroque
Revival style.
Rusticated ashlar ground floor, quoins, modillion cornice. 3
storeys plus attics; 5 x 2 windows. Windows are mainly plain
sashes. Corner site, with angled corner entrance bay under a
modillion pediment. Entrance bay has a round-arched opening
containing a grey granite doorcase with columns and broken
pediment with strapwork, and double doors. Above, a canted
stone oriel window, 3 sashes, with broken pediment and crest.
Above again, a plain sash with double keystone.
Left return, to Southwell Road, has 4 round-arched windows and
to left, a panelled double door with cornice on brackets, and
fanlight. Above, on each floor, plain sashes with brick flat
arches, the first floor windows with double keystones. Attics
have 2 lead covered box dormers with round-arched central
lights and leaded glazing.
Right return, to Manvers Street, has similar fenestration. The
ground floor window has sidelights, the upper floor windows
are paired. Single dormer.
INTERIOR has banking hall with original panelled pilasters and
brackets, panelled span beams and modillion cornices. Bank
fittings late C20.
