House, formerly house pair, now house. Early-to-mid C19. Channelled
render. Pantile roof. 2 storeys on rendered plinth. Plat band.
Slightly raised eaves band. Moulded cornice and plain parapet breaking
forwards over 3 central bays, but with no first-floor break under.
Pair of short pilasters contained within parapet towards each end,
the end one of each pair returning to form acroterion to pedimented
gable end. 4 plain pilasters with banded capitals alternating with
windows under central "break". Rendered ridge stack towards left end.
Regular 5-window front of 4 recessed 16-pane sashes with thin glazing
bars, and central French doors. Arcaded balcony spanning central "break",
first-floor balustrade with tapering balusters, ground floor with 3
round-headed arches springing from moulded imposts. Central half-
glazed door up one step, flanked by glazed strips, and with 3 rectangular
top lights under cambered architrave. Short single-storey rear wings to
right and left. Interior: tapering Egyptian-style architraves to at
least 5 ground-floor and 8 first-floor doorways. Doors with 3 large
horizontal panels with proud verges. Deep moulded skirting boards.
Slightly-coved cornices. Plain, slightly raised ceiling friezes. Shown
in 1912 sales particulars with pedimented upper storey to entrance
portico.
