infilling. Plain tile roof. Principal room of 2 timber-framed bays to
left of, and slightly overlapping, stack. Cross-wing of approximately
3 timber-framed bays to left end, projecting forwards slightly. Further
bay to right of, and slightly overlapping, stack; possibly of a slightly
different date, separately framed, apparently as a cross-wing, and less
deep to rear. Formerly free-standing mid-to-late C16 three-bay timber-
framed structure set some distance behind right end bay of main range,
with slightly later timber-framed infilling between them inset from right
gable end of main range. C17 stair turret in re-entrant angle. 2
storeys and attic on brick plinth. Close-studded. Left cross-wing

eaves of left cross-wing jettied on moulded bressumer, and with lower
ridge than main range. Roof of main range hipped down to wing with
gablet, gabled down to lower ridge of right end bay (to right of stack),
and gabled to right end. C16 rear structure with higher ridge than infill,
and roof hipped to front and rear. Multiple brick stack in front slope of
roof to right of centre, and truncated projecting brick stack to left side
of left wing. Irregular fenestration of 6 leaded windows; one 3-light
casement to left wing, one 2-light casement to porch, one single light to
right of porch, one 10-light ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed oriel
window under jettied close-studded gable to first floor of principal
room, one 3-light casement under stack, and one 10-light ovolo-moulded
mullioned and transomed window with moulded cill to right end bay. 10-
light ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed window with frieze windows
under first floor oriel and to right end bay on ground floor. 2-storey
C17 timber-framed porch overlapping angle between main range and left
wing; first floor jettied on 3 sides, eaves jettied to front. Moulded
rectangular outer doorway with encircled chamfer stops. Moulded C16 or
C17 door. Bell cupola to ridge of main range. Interior: exposed
framing, including evidence for mullioned windows to both floors of C16
rear structure, and to infill. Moulded beams. Evidence for screens
passage to left end of principal room. 4-centred-arched doorhead with
leaf spandrels between principal and right end rooms. Plain-chamfered
brick fireplace with chamfered bressumer to principal room and similar
stone fireplace to right end room. Raised floor to infill section with
solid-tread stairs to semi-basement with well. Late C17 staircase with
turned balusters and moulded handrail. Solid-tread stairs between first
