Large corner banking premises of circa 1880. Two tall storeys, painted stone and
terracotta. Eclectic design combining Gothic with Renaissance and Dutch gable
motifs. Tall corner oriel surmounted by octagonal cupola with scrolled consoles.
Dutch gables, ogee capped finials. Banking hall windows, in grooved ground floor,
have massive keystones. End bays of each front have 2 storeys contained in main
ground floor with boldly carved acanthus leaf decoration to aprons of upper windows.
Steep slate roofs, ribbed chimney stacks.
