Dated 1909. A large house in the Birmingham Arts and Crafts manner. Fine
quality brickwork with some purple headers and diapering. Two storeys symmetrical
with gabled wings, tilework kneelers. Steep gable end tiled roofs. Lofty
ribbed shaft chimney stack to left corner of left gable wing. Similar stacks
to rear and to side of right hand wing end fine groups of diagonally set stacks
set below ridge above entrance bay. Stairwell bay to inner left coern has
timber framed top storey with framed gable over. Leaded lights set between
studs returned to side and across central entrance bay below eaves with gallery
effect. Pent roof vestibule below with projecting timber framed gabled porch.
Leaded 2 or 3 light casements. Small lights to foot of stairwell bay. The
shallower right hand gabled wing has a shallow 2 storey canted bay with pergetted
aprons and lead valance coping. Garden front is more symmetrical with 2 gabled
breaks containing shallow canted bays, otherwise similar fenestration with
leaded camber arched French window beneath pent roof verandah between breaks.
Interior restrained mixture of Arts and Crafts and classical mouldings. Good
door furniture and window latches.
