A substantial C1909-10 house with Arts and Crafts details raised in banked
garden on corner site with Amesbury Road. Two storeys and attic, asymmetrical
design, red brick with off centre squat 3 storey entrance tower stone dressed
with crenellation, rising flush with wall and canted break to right with west
wing all with slightly over sailing timber framed first floor. East return
gabled to corner. Hipped and gable end tiled roof with overhanging eaves.
Leaded casements and canted bay to left of recessed porch. East return has
large oriel bay window with swept lead roof. Stained glass to top lights.
Garden front has similar details with bays gabled. Deep arched inset
verandah butting chimney stack to right. Effective combination of materials
and varied emphasis to each elevation.
