GV II

Court house, now public library. 1816. Brick in Flemish bond with painted
stone dressings and slate roof. Two storeys, five bays. Ground floor windows
recessed within an arcade of round arches with keystones and impost band. They
are sashed with glazing bars and have gauged brick round heads. On the first
floor is a similar arcade with moulded arches. The windows are sashed with
Gothick glazing. In the central bay of the ground floor arcade is a C20 door-
way. Above is a plaque inscribed: "This Court House was erected AD 1816".
