Four almshouses, now three houses. Later C17, on the site of the Town House supported by a charity of C15 or earlier. No. 47 a little later, and north lean-to extension was formerly a separate cottage. Alterations and rear extensions 1933. Timber frames on tarred brick plinths. Painted brick infill to frame and casing to No. 47. Steep thatched roof with three large swept dormers at eaves and fancy cresting. Hipped thatched roof to low north end lean-to extension. A block of three picturesque one and a half storeys houses facing east with chimney to No. 49 in rear roof slope, and external north gable chimney to No. 51. Built with one room and bedroom over for each house. East front has three windows, three plank doors to left hand of each window, small window to north extension, wide-spaced timbers to No. 49 and No. 51 and straight angle braces to No. 51. Two-light C19 flush casement windows with taller two-light small-paned casements in the three dormers. Small upper floor window in south gable of No. 47. No. 49 has a wide fireplace and clasped-purlin roof structure. (RCHM Typescript: Davis(1980) No. 7).
