Former farmhouse, now house. C17 or earlier, enlarged late C17,
altered C19, restored c1965. Brick-nogged timber framing, part
brick, part stone plinth, brick rear lean-to, tiled roof. 'T'-
plan, each part 3 bays: lean-to addition to rear of stem: 2-
storey and attics. Entrance front: all windows mullion and
transom with weatherboard over, save attics and by front door.
Close-studded timber-framed projecting gable to left: 3-light
window. Main block wider-spaced studs: boarded door up 2 stone
steps in internal corner, 2-light window adjoining, both under open
lean-to porch, timber posts to front (added c1965). To right 2-
light and 4-light windows. Single-storey brick wing projects
beyond right end; 3-light window without weatherboard on left
return, cut down chimney on gable. First floor: 3-light window on
left gable, cuts original tie beam: later timber-framed gable
over, to raise eaves to cross wing slightly: curved feet to
principals, 4-pane casement with weatherboard in top. To right two
2-light and one 4-light windows; plain panel in framing above for
attic: two 3-light casement dormers with flat roofs added c1965.
Right return large, plain external brick chimney: left return
large external rendered chimney-breast with star-plan brick stack
above. Internally slightly-curved collars to trusses, duplicate
lower principals with curved feet; square ridge in cross wing,
ridge not visible in main wing. One original boarded door in
attics. Stairs, most doors and opening casements renewed c1965.
