Gatelodge now a house. Circa 1866-9. Probably by Waterhouse for
T F Buxton of Easneye as a gatelodge. Red brick with upper floor
tilehung with plain and cusped tiles. Red tiled roofs with
ornamental cresting and gable finials. Square double-pile plan
with parallel roofs and front facing S onto drive. Tiled gabled
open timber porch flanked by segmental headed 2-light casement
windows. Asymetrical design with gable to left of porch, corner
oriel to ground floor and wing set back on left hand. Similar
windows to upper floor. Cusped wooden bargeboards. Moulded
brick plinth, sills, and corbells to jetty along E side with
heavy timberbressumer. Central chimney of engaged diagonal
shafts.
