House. c1450-1550, remodelled as 3 cottages in mid/late C18, with
further C19 alterations; restored 1989/90. Thin bedded rubble stone
with large quoins, stone slate roof, rebuilt brick flue and to large
eternal stepped stone stack to north, ashlar lateral stack to cross
wing. L-plan with cross wing extending to rear right and C19 lean-to
on rear internal angle. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Stone
lintels over c1989/90 glazed door and 8/8 pane sashes; hipped roof
dormers. Casement windows of c1989/90 to rear. Graffiti dates of
1731 and 1736 to right return; left gable-end wall has fragments of
reset medieval sculpture including late C12 head corbel and C14
bishop's head. Interior: mid/late C18 collar-truss roof, including
C15/16 principal rafters to one truss. Cross wing has substantial
stop-chamfered beams with large joists, open fireplace with chamfered
stone lintel to front former parlour divided by original partition
with morticing for doorhead from rear former service room which has
chamfered lintel over former external entry to left. Cross wing
adjoined probable former hall to left.

Two adjoining cottages. Probably C17 with extensive C19
modifications. Thin bedded rubble stone with large quoins, stone
slate roof, rebuilt brick flues to south end and to large external
stepped stone stack to north, ashlar stack to cross wing. Plan
uncertain but single main front range with large cross rear wing
and single storey lean-to in internal angle. Two storeys. Front
to west has 3 windows, mainly 2-light C19 glazing-bar casements
with one C20 metal casement top left. Rear wing has various
casements including one single leaded light. Plank doors on each
side of rear wing. Semi-derelict at time of survey.
