Formerly one house, now divided into 2. Possibly C15. Square
panel timber-framing with diagonal bracing and brick infill, with
rendered rear wing to No 6. Slate roof to No 6, concrete tiles to
No 7; small brick ridge flue to stone stack to No 7, thin lateral
brick stack to No 6. L-shape range with No 6 projecting backwards,
possibly originally a hall house with inserted stone stack, hall
and 3-storey parlour end to No 7 and service cross wing in No 6.
Now 2 storeys and attic. No 6 has 3 small lights on first floor, 2
larger on ground floor cutting across the square framing and C20
door to right. No 7 has 3 small lights, and one 3-light
diagonally-set wood mullion to left and one 4-light similar to
right, both between sheets of glass on outside and inside. C20
door and fenestration to ground floor. Interior of No 7 has arched
wind bracing in roof and encrusted soot (painted over) on roof
timbers, some remaining wattle and daub walling to internal timber-
framed partition wall with one original plank door to attic in this
wall. Very large apparently inserted stone stack and large flat
chamfered and stopped beams to both floors. Probably some re-used
timber; mill owners' house and adjacent former mill said to have
been ruinous c1389, possibly this is the house rebuilt in C15.
