16/233 Blue Boys Farmhouse and barn

II

House with attached barn. Mid C17; early C19 barn and other
alterations. Random rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone
slate roof. Two-storey; barn attached at east end. North front:
mixed fenestration, roughly central 2-storey canted bay window
addition with mullioned casements and hipped roof. Various 2-light
mullioned casements with hoodmoulds, 2 to left below 2 upper floor
sash windows, one now blocked, other with 12-pane sash. Moulded
round arched doorway to right with keystone, imposts and early
plank door. Two cut-down ridge-mounted chimneys. Barn projects
forward to left with west-facing plank barn doors and timber
lintel. Unglazed loft-level cross window to end gable. Single-
storey outbuilding attached to south west corner. Interior not
inspected. Recorded as Blue Boy's Inn from 1718. Became farmhouse
in C19.
