Chest tomb and pedestal tomb within railed enclosure. Mid Cl8.
Marble and grey sandstone with limestone. Group comprises: chest
tomb with moulded and panelled marble ends, west having limestone
cartouche set in oval recess; plain recessed side panels.
Limestone plinth; plain marble weathered top. Inscribed to SAMUEL
SHEPPARD, died 1749. Rectangular pedestal with moulded marble
ends. Moulded plinth; moulded top with high boldly moulded
sandstone finial coping with domical cap. Inscribed to Frances and
Rebecca Sheppard, both died 1741. Stone surround with low rail
between cast iron posts with small ball finials.
