Semi-detached estate house, c1865, probably by William Burges for
James Yorke. Red brick with decorative grey brick diamond
patterns. Limestone window surrounds. Roof, red fishscale tiling
roofing, brick stack. Rectangular plan. Two-storeys, symmetrical
4-windowed facade with central gable. All windows 1, 2 and 3-light
stone-mullioned casements, with glazing bars and blind ogee curved
trefoil-headed lights. Segmental relieving arches in grey brick
over 3-light windows. Grey brick string below sills of first floor
windows. Pointed plank doors in gable-ends within pointed flat-
chamfered brick surrounds. Single pitched tiled canopy supported
on wooden brackets over door in left gable-end. Part-glazed C20
porch in front of door in right gable-end. Single light windows
either side of door as in front elevation, small open quatrefoil
towards apex of ridge. Roof; wide roof overhang supported on
curved wooden brackets rising from string. Simple carved
bargeboards forming trefoil to forward facing gable. Decorative
cusped ridge tiling. Central stack with dentil decoration and
projecting courses of grey brick.
