II
Former 2 semi-detached cottages, now one house. Early-mid C18.
Brick-nogged timber-framing, brick gables, tiled roof. Four bays,
1 1/2 storeys, one room deep. Framing 3-panels high at eaves, near
square panels; stone plinth. Brick gables frame side walls, 115mm
exposed. Two-light casement windows: window on left, beam end
exposed on rail above, half-glazed door; beam end exposed on left
of window, blocked doorway, window with further beam end over.
External brick chimney each end with tiled offsets, stone
projection to one side with tiled lean-to roof for oven. Rear wall
fully framed: no openings. Heavy chamfer to ceiling beams
internally; right end, large fireplace with oven off. Formerly
had dormer windows. Example of late stage in timber framing,
change to brick beginning.
