Late C18, early Cl9. A symmetrical front (south) of 3 storeys, 2-1-2 windows,
with later side wings of 2 storeys, 1 window. Hipped slate roof to centre, slate
roof to wings end in gables to front and rear Red brick walling in Flemish bond,
rubbed flat arches and plinth; stone features including a plain coping to the
parapet, a moulded cornice containing curved dentils (or small mullions ), cills,
framing to the lst floor central Venetian window (a fully-moulded Tuscan Order
of pilasters with brackets below cill), the columns to the porch and flight of
steps to the entrance. The side wings (separated from the centre by a narrow
recess have a gable of pediment form with a coping, a cornice at eaves level a cornice at eaves level
(similar to that of the central block) and an arched recess containing a semi-
circular upper window above a Venetian window (with unmoulded stone frame).
Victorian sashes in reveals, wings have standard subdivisions, a narrow sash
window on either side of the entrance. The porch is a Tuscan Order in wood,
but with plain stone columns, a thin architrave between the inner pilasters
enclosing a plain fanlight and a wide 6-panelled door. The other elevations are
less regular, with eaves and sashes, but the arched recess of the wings is
repeated at the rear (north) face. Within, the hall has an oval arch leading
to a rear hall, which contains the original staircase. A modern single-storeyed
block is attached to the north side.
