6/27 The Rectory

CV II

Rectory, early C19. Gault brick and red brick, Flemish bond, roofed with slate.
Double-pile near square plan, aspect E, with 2 internal chimney stacks
symmetrically disposed. 2 storeys. Front elevation of gault brick with giant
pilasters at corners. C19 glazed door in central porch with fluted columns
and entablature with triglyphs. 2 double-hung sash windows of 12 lights with
flat brick arches on ground floor, 3 on first floor. Hipped roof of shallow
pitch, long overhanging eaves with panelled soffits. Chimneys of gault brick.
Symmetrical elevation. Other walls of red brick, with a giant pilaster of gault
brick at each corner.
