House, divided into 2 cottages, and now combined. C17. Timber framed,
plastered, roof thatched. 4-5 bays facing SW with axial stack one bay from
right end, originally forming a lobby-entrance, and original external stack at
left end. single-storey lean-to extension at rear, with roof of corrugated
asbestos. One storey with attics. No. 3 (at left) has 3 C20 casements, 3 more
in slated swept dormers, and a C20 glazed door. No. 4 (at right) has one C18
2-light window with one wrought iron casement and diamond leaded panes, one more
in a slated swept dormer, and a C19 plain boarded door. Monogram RB in circle
(for Ruggles-Brise) painted on front elevation. Roof half-hipped at right end
only. Both stacks have grouped diagonal shafts. There is a similar C18 2-light
window in the right return wall at first floor level. RCHM 32.
