Cottage, part formerly a forge. Early C17 with C19 addition. Coursed gritstone rubble, gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate roof. Two brick gable end stacks, two storeys, C19 single storey addition to west. South elevation - C19 casement. To east, low four-light recessed and chamfered mullion window with dripmould, former doorcase filled with C20 casement, and inserted C19 door beyond. Above new door,on a C19 casement. Over early window a similar four-light mullion window with dripmould.

Interior has large bracketed stone fireplace and bread-oven. Large central beam with roll moulding, broadening to west end.
