Pair of cottages on the Devonshire estate. c1840, probably by
Joseph Paxton. Coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings.
Stone slate roof with ashlar ridge and gable stacks largely
rebuilt in brick. Paired bracketed eaves. Two storeys. Two bay
south elevation. The ground floor has two Venetian windows with
raised ashlar tops. Two glazing bar sashes above with raised
ashlar tops and deeply projecting bracketed sills. The west and
east elevations have projecting flat-roofed porches with keyed
round-arched entrances and bracketed copings. Flanked by keyed
round-arched glazing bar sashes. The first floor has two
round-arched windows and two flat-arched sashes, all with raised
ashlar tops.
