Pair of houses. No. 41, to left, has C16-C17 bay to centre, late
C17-C18 bay to right, and later bay to left, all altered early C20.
No. 43 is mid-late C18. No. 41 is of whitewashed render with old tile
roof and 2 intermediate brick chimneys. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Irregular
C20 leaded casements, with canted bay window to ground floor left and
canted oriel to centre Right bay has 2-storey canted projection
breaking through eaves with small gable above, and half-timbering with
herringbone brick between storeys. C20 door and gabled timber porch
between right bays. Interior retains some timber framing with curved
braces in partition walls. Centre bay, originally jettied to front,
has heavy stop-chamfered spine beam and joists, altered fireplace and
curved wind-braces. No. 43 is of colourwashed brick to front with first
floor band course and blackened rubble stone plinth, and has right
gable of coursed rubble stone. Old tile roof, brick chimney to right.
2 storeys and basement, one bay. 3-light wooden casements to all
floors, board door in right side. Included for group value.
