Small country house, now University Vice Chancellor's Office.
c.1830 for Charles Pinfold, stuccoed and painted, slate roof
concealed by parapet with small ogee roofed bell turret at
rear. Modillion cornice. 2 storeys, 3 widely spaced bays, outer bays
slightly projecting, with sash windows in architrave surrounds, the
lower ones set in arched recesses. The centre bay has upper tripartite
sash window with architrave surround and segmental shaped head over
modern panelled door with rectangular fanlight and narrow flanking
windows under a Doric portico of 4 columns entablature and triglyph frieze
modillion cornice and blocking course. 3 shallow stone steps. West
front has 5 bays of sash windows, outer bays slightly projecting. North
block C18 red brick, hipped tile roof, hipped dormers and 2 bays of sash
windows, linked to later main block by 2 window brick wing, altered.
Interior: of 1830 block has contemporary screen in entrance hall, stair-
case, doors, fireplaces and cornices.
