Pair of houses, formerly one. Circa 1905. By Sir Reginald Blomfield.
Red brick in English bond, moulded wooden eaves cornice with modillions,
plain tile roof, 2 brick chimneys with moulded cornice caps. In Queen
Anne style. 2 storeys and attic. S. end has large overhanging gable,
rendered and whitewashed, with cornice jettied on elaborately
carved scroll brackets. Modillion cornice surround, 3-light barred
wooden attic casement with small coved wooden cornice. 2 5-sided 2-storey
bay windows below with barred wooden casements. E. and W. sides have
approximately 2 bays of barred wooden casements with gauged heads,
and central half-glazed doors. Later C20 whitewashed brick extension
at N. end of Southlands, of 2 storeys with flat roof.
