A C16 timber-framed house with later alterations and additions. Much restored. It was built on an L shaped plan, two storeys. The first storey has exposed timber-framing and the ground storey has been faced in pebbledash. The south front has two C20 bay windows rising through two storeys, with leaded lights. Roof tiled.

No 20 forms a group with Nos.13 to 19 (odd), Nos. 20 to 30 (consec), Parson's Almshouses, Nos. 34, 36, 36A, 38, Nos. 40 to 60 (even) St Mary's Street and the Parish Church of St Mary.
