Cottage, mid-late C17 extended 1949. Timber framed, plaster rendered and
long straw thatch, half-hipped roof with small c.1700 red brick ridge stack.
Three bays including the narrower pantry or storage bay to the right hand.
One storey and attic. One dormer. Three modern casements and doorway to a
lobby entry. Rear wall has one early C19 horizontal sliding sash. Inside:
Timber framing exposed particularly in left hand bay which is open to the
roof. Frame of uniform and substantial scantling as the rafters of the
purlin roof. Main posts have jowled heads. There is straight downward wall
bracing. The hearth and ceiling in the centre room are later. The hearth is
a comparatively small, red brick inglenook and the main beam of light
scantling and unmoulded. Similar framing to No. 61 Station Road, Meldreth
(q.v.).
