Model cottage (Cholmondeley Castle Estate), mid C19, of irregular bond
brown brick with slate roof. Of 2 storeys with 1-storey wings;
symmetrical. Open-pediment gable to road. Deeply projecting boxed
eaves and verges, the former on band of 2 projecting courses.
Bargeboards and finials. Central chimney of 3 separated square flues.
The central portion is gabled, the wings hipped. Replaced door in
right wing. Central canted 1-storey hip-roofed bay window with 2
2-light casements above. The bay window and the 2-light casements in
the front and side of the central portion are of cast iron with
octagonal and small diamond panes. Lead rolls to hips.
A pretty example.
