Pair of parallel cemetery chapels linked by archway with spire, 1859
by Bellamy and Hardy, yellow stone in small coursed rock-faced blocks
with ashlar dressings; graded grey slate roofs. C13 style detail. Central
pinnacled ogee archway carries tower with diagonal buttresses, capped
by broach spire. Shoulder-arched doorway to each chapel, under
central archway; gabled porch on outer side of each chapel; 3-light
Geometrical window in each front gable; 2-light window on each rear
gable; pinnacles and, on front gables, ornate stone openwork cresting.
A vigorously expressed landmark.
