Tombstone to two members of Appleton family, died 1774. Tall sandstone slab
with nowy-headed cartouche bearing epitaph on east face. Carved hour
glasses at angles below cartouche. Ribbons above and below egg-and-dart-
moulded head, inscribed: "Live mindful - of Death" and "One Night that is
the Grave wants for all men". Epitaph includes:

"Farewell vain World know enough of thee.
And now am careless what thou sayst of me.
Thy smiles I court not nor thy Frowns I fear,
My cares are past, my Head lies quiet here.
What faults you saw in me, take care to shun.
And look at Home enough there's to be done".
