House. Circa 1850, with few later alterations. Brick, painted at ground floor and
rendered at first floor. The right side is slate-hung at the upper level. Left side
has stone rubble basement, brick above and slate-hung at first floor. 2-span
bitumenised slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stack with brick
shaft at the left end.
Plan: Double depth plan; the entrance is to right and the principal front room to
left, heated from a gable end stack to left. Service rooms to rear.
Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 3-window front; all windows are the original C19
windows, 4-pane sashes with round arches. First floor has 3 sashes in moulded
surrounds. Ground floor has round arch to right with C19 panelled inner door with 3-
pane overlight. 3 round-arches sashes to left, set close together with a brick
string course serving as imposts. At the right side the brick string course is
continued. Left side has external brick stack to the front range. Rear range has
paired round-arched sashes at ground floor, with single 4-pane sash at first floor;
all windows set in rectangular apertures. At the rear, the main house has 4-pane
sash at ground floor, 2 round-arched 4-pane sashes at first floor; the upper level is
slate-hung. Lower 2-storey service wing, rendered, with random C20 doors and windows
at ground and first floor.
