Cottage. Circa 1810. The cottage may have been designed by Sir Jeffry Wyatville in
conjunction with his design for Endsleigh House (qv) for the 6th Duke of Bedford.
The Cottage is associated with the kitchen gardens at Endsleigh. Brick and stone
rubble with gabled slate roofs and diagonally-set rendered and brick chimney shafts.
Irregular plan, the wing to the east of the main block may be a later addition. The
south elevation has an asymmetrical front with a 2-span block gabled to the front
with deep eaves and a slightly set-back lower block to the right, gabled at the right
end. A portico to the left-hand block has granite piers with moulded capitals and a
hipped slate roof and is similar in design to the portico at Endsleigh House. C20
fenestration.
