Lodge at the entrance to Endsleigh House, formerly Endsleigh Cottage (qv). Early C19
designed for the Duke of Bedford. Hurdwick stone rubble with a wooden shingle roof
hipped at ends, formerly thatched. 2 stone stacks, 1 on ridge with a diagonally-set
chimney shaft, 1 a slightly projecting lateral stack with paired diagonally-set
shafts. Picturesque Cottage orne to harmonize with Endsleigh House by Sir Jeffrey
Wyatville, designed in 1810. Irregular plan. Small single-storey range.
Asymmetrical 3-window front with decorative bargeboards, the roof with a small gable
to the front in the centre. To the left the roof is carried down as a catslide
forming a rustic verandah supported on rough timber posts. There is a small outshut
on the front at the right.
