2 adjoining cottages. Left-hand cottage probably late C17 or early C18, right hand
cottage C18. Unrendered stone and cob. Corrugated iron roofs with gable ends.
Axial stone rubble stack and demolished stack with projecting bread oven at right
gable end.
Left-hand cottage is 2-room plan, the right-hand room heated by axial stack and
containing staircase facing entrance in left-hand corner, with lofted storage shed
at left end. Right-hand cottage is 2-room plan with room to right heated by gable
end stack.
2 storeys. Left-hand cottage has 2-window range. Rectangular window openings on
each floor flanking large stone porch with pantiled monopitch roof and semi-circular
headed doorway with stone voussoirs. Plank door at left end to storage shed.
Right-hand cottage has nearly symmetrical 2-window range with 2-light casements on
each floor to left and 20-paned window above 3-light window to right of porch with
corrugated lean-to porch.
Interior: 2 chamfered ceiling cross beams and fireplace lintel with run-out stops
to heated room of left-hand cottage. Roof structure replaced except for single
original truss over right-hand cottage.
