Conduit house. 1708. Granite. Square structure set to offset plinth, with
pyramidal granite roof on continuous moulded eaves course and carrying ball
finial. West side has a blocked square opening with a worn panel or lintol with
illegible inscription. Mainly in squared granite block, but the back in
rubble. One of three conduits provided as part of the water supply system
given to the town by Nicholas Trist, lord of the manor, in 1708; in use until
the1950s.
