SY 39 NE MARSHWOOD NASH LANE
5/39 Nash Farmhouse
- II*
Farmhouse. c.1400 roof and core, with C16, C17 and later alterations. Rubble
walls, rendered. Stone mullions. "Turnerized" slate roofs with stone copings
to gable-ends. One front wall stone stack, with modern brick capping. 2 brick
stacks, renewed, at each gable. Cross-Passage plan, with gabled-in original
extension at lower end, possibly store-house. Originally open hall, left-of
Screens, in C15. 2 storeys. c.4 windows: stone mullions, hollow-chamfered of
3 and 4 lights. Iron casements C17, and square leaded lights. Plank front door
immediately right of front stack, with strap hinges. Rendered porch. West
gable wall: protruding rubble stack with set-offs. Left and low down: small
4-centred wooden window with hollow chamfered surround. Interior: arch-braced
collar-beam roof, supported on wooden corbels, c.1400. Front stack fireplace,
c.1400. Hall and Parlour with C16 moulded ceiling beans, forming ceiled
compartments. C16 Plank-and-Muntin partitions to screens and Parlour.
2 depressed-arch service door-heads (integral) blocked in Cl7. Open fireplace
in kitchen, with wooden lintel, part-blocked. Stone fireplace in solar
