Late C16 timber-framed and plastered house on an L shaped plan entirely enclosed
by a water filled moat. There are modern additions at the rear and various
alterations. Two storeys and attics. The north-west front has a 2 storeyed
former porch with a jettied upper storey. The front has bar and transom windows
of 2 and 3 lights and one large 12 light mullioned and transomed window. There
is an original door on the south-west side. Roof tiled, with 2 original chimney
stacks. One with 2 square shafts set diagonally and the other with 2 hexagonal
shafts. The interior has an original open fireplace. (RCHM 6).
