Town house or merchant's house. C17 or C18. Render on probable
rubble; late C19 dry slate pair of roofs end-on to the street
and with a wide valley flat between; crested clay ridge tiles
and turned finials; shaped and pierced barge boards; 2
rendered lateral stacks with moulded stucco cornices to
right-hand return. Deep plan end-on to the street with
probably 2 or 3 rooms at the front flanking a central entrance
passage.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, plus attic to left-hand range; 3:1-window
range. C18 hornless sashes with thick glazing bars and much
crown glass including central paired sashes, to ground and 1st
floors of left-hand gable end; mid C19 hornless sash to
left-hand gable and similar 12-pane sash to 1st-floor centre
of right-hand gable end. Pilastered doorway with deep moulded
hood under right-hand window of left-hand gable end; panelled
reveals with fielded panels and similar 6-panel door.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to retain original or old
features which should help to give a more precise dating for
this building.
