Farmhouse and attached former Congregational Chapel. Early - mid C19 with later
alterations. Rubble with brick dressings, plain tiled roof with crestings and
brick gable stacks; Chapel in different rubble, partly rendered, pantiled roof
with raised coped verges and stone stack. Farmhouse in 2 parallel ranges,
2-span roof, with former Chapel attached to right. Farmhouse of 2 storeys and
3 windows, all large 2-light casements of 3 panes each with brick segmental heads
and limestone cills, central panelled and glazed door with brick segmental head,
corbelled eaves; attached to right, single storey pantiled connecting wing
(stable) and Chapel with higher roof level, 2 pointed arched single lights with
some lattice glazing remaining. Left return has lower 2-storey range to rear
with single and 3-light casement at ground floor and 2-light at first floor, all
with flat heads, rendered single storey lean-to to left with sash with wider
central pane. Right return has small single light at first floor of front
range, rendered. Rear of main farmhouse has two 2-light casements with timber
lintels at first floor, 3-light casement with segmental head at ground floor
left, lean-to with door to inner side and 2-light casement to rear; rear of
stable has stable door with segmental head of 3 courses of brick and ventilation
slit to right, C20 rendered single storey addition to rear; rear of Chapel has
central doorway, door missing, window right and left as front. Interior of
Chapel has 3-bay roof, with principal rafters, one row of purlins and ridge
purlin, scissors trusses, deep splayed reveals to windows. Interior of farmhouse
not accessible.
