- Anonymous tomb to south-west
of west corner of nave of
Parish Church of St.Laud.
GV II
Tomb c1850. In red sandstone with limestone inscription slabs. About 8 feet
high in two stages rising from plain plinth, upper stage diminished.
Sandstone frames to recessed panels. Then covered cornice to top. The tomb
is a curiosity in that it is deliberately anonymous, 3 sides having biblical
texts, the east inscription starting "READER: The Name, Profession and Age of
him whose body lies within are of little importance..." The inscription
slabs are on the upper stage.
