Late C16. Unusually large red bricks, some 14 ins x 6 ins x 3½ ins. Buttresses
and posts, coping of sloping bricks with raised course under. Remains of Place House,
large mansion on south side of Church Tower, taken down 1785. Piers and gates on
north side are later.
