Parish Church. C12 three-bay nave, church walls, fine ornamented Norman north doorway.
C15 north transept and late C16 tower of flint, some early brick, and dressed stone
quoins. 1875-76 restoration of chancel, south aisle and vestry. Nave roof has
chamfered crown posts traced two ways on to collar purlins. Simple C12 font with
large twisted edge roll, modern base. Traces of early decoration remain on soffite
of west nave arch. East of arches south arcade, a flight of stone steps entered through
a two centred arched doorway, leading to former rood-loft spanning chancel arch.
Piscina on right hand of altar to Lady Chapel. Stained glass 1882 by Kemp.
Monuments: Chancel - ledger stone to Sarah Milton mother of the poet, 1637. North
wall cartouche, swags and escutcheon to Robert Narmey 1734.
