Here lyeth buryed under this stone maistres margery verney late wyf to s' Rauff verney knyght & oon of the doughters & heres of maist' John Iwardby squyer sumtyme lord of this towne whiche margery decessed the xxiij day of Juyn the yere of or lord god Mt Vc & ix on whose soule Ihu have mercy amen

Top left shield: Verney (azure a cross argent charged with five mullets gules) & bottom half of the Whittingham (argent, a fess vert with a lion rampant gules over all)
