A Grade II Listed Building in Spencers Wood, Wokingham

Hill House - black & white photograph c.1950s

This photograph was also taken by the late G.H.C. Askew (1901-1962). And was probably taken in the early 1950s. Its view is from the 'croquet lawn', which no longer exists - having been swallowed up by a sub-division. In fact the whole front garden, once with its surrounding brick wall and path lined with stone mushrooms has been completely changed since sometime after 1965, when the house was sold by the late Mrs Joyce Askew (née Moore, 1903-1968).
