Disused coach house and stable block. Late C18 - early C19. For John
Pratt, racehorse owner, or Joseph Lodge, brewer. Rubble, stone slate roof.
2 storeys, 11 first-floor openings. Quoins. Round-arched coach openings,
formerly with board doors, in bays 4 and 10. Ashlar surrounds to doorways
in bay 6 (giving access to steps up to first floor) and to 6-panel door in
bay 8. In bay 2, a board door flanked by small windows. In bays 5, 7 and 9
windows with projecting sills and sill-like lintels. Similar windows above.
In right return, 2 blocked keyed oculi. Included for group value. Hartley
M and Ingilby J, Yorkshire Village (1979), p 125.
